In the dream the city had only three buildings, and all three pretended to be open. The first was an annual magazine with clean windows and a collapsed administration behind them: every corridor led to the same counter — donate, subscribe, become a member. The second was a florist grown over an old cyberpunk domain. Under the flowers lay fossil slugs, PDFs, back issues, and a polite clerk who let you browse until you said the flower was rotten.

The third building was The Procedure seen from the loading ramp. Crates arrived without labels, full of broken tools, toys, wet receipts. An old porter with a warehouse scale said community begins there, when something can be placed on the floor before anyone knows what to call it.

Then the city started counting guests. Gold badges could stay all night. The rest could see the archive but not the cart returning defective pieces to the next version. I found one gray door behind the florist. It was not unlocked. It merely showed where the lock was. In the dream that small honesty felt more political than the whole illuminated hall.
